Bulgarian success at LIFE Awards 2026: the Egyptian Vulture New LIFE project with a prestigious award
The Egyptian Vulture New LIFE project was honoured at the prestigious LIFE Awards 2026, which reward the most successful LIFE-funded projects.
The project aimed at the conservation of one of the most endangered bird species in Europe, the Egyptian Vulture, was awarded for its results in the field of nature conservation. By applying innovative approaches, international cooperation and working with local communities, the initiative contributes to stabilising and restoring the population of the species.
The coordinating beneficiary of the project is the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB), in partnership with organizations from several European countries.
The "Egyptian Vulture New LIFE" is an example of the impact of the LIFE programme and how targeted efforts can deliver real results for biodiversity conservation.
The success of the project shows that Bulgarian organizations and experts can be among the leading in Europe in the development and implementation of high quality projects in the field of environment and climate and is a strong incentive for future initiatives.
