Within the series of trainings aimed at building capacity for successful participation in the LIFE programme, the next online event will be held with the participation of a guest lecturer from Green Balkans.
The training will take place on 14 May 2026 (Thursday) at 10:00 in an online format.
During the session, the experience from the implementation of the project "Better Life for the Lesser Kestrel in the South-Eastern Balkans" (acronym: "Life for the Lesser Kestrel" LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017), which focuses on the conservation and restoration of the Lesser Kestrel population in the region, will be presented.
The project covers activities in Bulgaria and Greece and includes various measures related to the conservation of the species and the management of its habitats. These include establishing and strengthening colonies, releasing birds into the wild, monitoring, and working with farmers to implement nature-friendly practices.
Participants will learn about the process of developing and implementing a LIFE project, from the initial idea to the implementation of the activities. Key challenges will also be shared, as well as practical examples that may be useful for future candidates.
The training is aimed at all stakeholders who plan to apply to the LIFE programme or are already implementing projects and wish to build on their knowledge through real-world experience.
