At the end of November the annual meeting of the Bulgarian LIFE projects was held

An annual meeting of LIFE projects implemented in Bulgaria was held in the city of Stara Zagora from 26 to 27 November 2025.

The event brought together Bulgarian beneficiaries implementing LIFE projects, an external monitoring team and a representative of the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA).

This year's meeting was organised within the framework of the Lesser Kestrel Life Project (LIFE19 NAT/BG/001017), implemented by the Green Balkans – Stara Zagora Association. In this regard, within the framework of the event, the participants visited the Wildlife Rescue Centre in person. The Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre is a specialised unit of Green Balkans related to the treatment, rehabilitation, breeding and return to nature of rare and endangered wild animals, and environmental education. Since 2002, the centre has been designated by the Minister of Environment and Water as a CITES Rescue Centre under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).

The LIFE National Contact Point for Bulgaria also took part in the meeting, acquainting the participants with the objectives, the results achieved so far, as well as the planned future actions of the LIFE21-CAP-BG-LIFE BG PRACTICES project "Capacity building for promotion, training, policy development and support in Bulgaria". There was also an increased interest from the Bulgarian side in the LIFE project proposals for the period 2023-2025.

The meeting was extremely useful, giving the participants the opportunity to exchange knowledge on different thematic areas in the projects they implement, as well as setting the basis for future collaborations.
