Ministry of Environment and Water in cooperation with the European Investment Bank presented for the first time in Bulgaria financial instruments under the Life program

The Ministry of the Environment and Water, in partnership with the European Investment Bank (EIB), held for the first time in Bulgaria an information meeting on the presentation of the Nature Capital Financing Facility (NCFF) within the scope of the Life program.

The financial instrument provides funds in the form of loans and investments of EUR 125 million for projects that promote the conservation of natural capital and adaptation to climate change in the Member States of the European Union. The instrument is managed directly by the European Investment Bank and is funded by the Life program budget and aims at the projects implemented to contribute to the implementation of the policies of the program.

During the meeting, lecturers from the European Investment Bank presented the financial instrument, its components and specifics, project types, application methods, as well as successful investment and business models from other EU Member States.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the banks, municipalities, ministries, financial institutions, equity funds, private and non-profit organizations.
